10 Posters

I heard for the first time recently the phrase “An iron fist in a velvet glove” and ever since I’ve been absolutely obsessed with it. I thought it was the most beautiful metaphor ever. Therefore, when prompted with this exercise of ten posters, all in black and white, I knew I wanted to do them around the theme of idioms because I just think they’re so cool. I really enjoyed playing around with different fun typefaces I’ve been collecting and simply seeing how I could express all these different phrases. The second part of the projecr was a challenge to make a final poster consisting of elements of all 10 posters. I took it literally, and had lots of fun making a collage out of my posters.
